TEHRAN The national fencing team of Iran that had participated in the Thailand-based Asian tournament finished third in epee event, announced Iran's Fencing Federation (IFF) on Tuesday.

According to IRNA, the Iranian team succeeded in beating the Japanese squad 45-34 and grabbed the third title.

The four-member side of Iran comprising Mohammad Rezaei, Farhad Rezaei, Simak Feiz-Asgari, and Hossein Abedi defeated Taiwan to cruise into quarterfinals in which South Korea narrowly overcame Iran.

The national fencing team of the country had taken part in three fields of epee, saber, and foil.
